About This Opportunity

The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat has issued an official employment notification to recruit eligible candidates for 5 contract-based positions including Hindi Reporter, Hindi Translator, Bengali Translator, and Karbi Translator. Eligibility Criteria

• Hindi Reporter: Must possess a Bachelor degree in any discipline, a Diploma in Hindi Stenography with a speed of 80 words per minute, DTP typewriting (Hindi), and a 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application. Sound knowledge of Assamese and English is required, and parliamentary experience is preferred.
• Hindi Translator: Must hold a Bachelor degree with Hindi as a subject, possess a 6-month Computer Application certificate, and have sound knowledge of Assamese and English literature. Parliamentary or Hindi newspaper reporting experience is an advantage.
• Bengali Translator: Must have a Bachelor degree with Bengali as a subject, a 6-month Computer Application certificate, and sound knowledge of Assamese, English, and Bengali literature. Experience in parliamentary functions or Bengali reporting is preferred.
• Karbi Translator: Must possess a Bachelor degree, a 6-month Computer Application certificate, and sound knowledge of Assamese, English, and Karbi language or literature. Experience in parliamentary functions or Karbi reporting is preferred.
• Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 and 40 years of age as on 01-01-2026.
• Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates and by 5 years for SC/ST(P) & (H) candidates.

Salary / Financial Benefits

• Hindi Reporter: Rs. 35000/- per month
• Hindi Translator: Rs. 25000/- per month
• Bengali Translator: Rs. 25000/- per month
• Karbi Translator: Rs. 25000/- per month

Selection Process

• Shortlisting of Candidates: The Assembly Secretariat prepares an initial shortlist of eligible candidates based on prescribed criteria.
• Speed Test for Hindi Reporters: Shortlisted candidates for the Hindi Reporter post must appear for a designated Speed Test.
• Interview for Translators: Shortlisted applicants for Hindi, Karbi, and Bengali Translator posts are required to appear before a constituted Interview Board.
