Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be bona fide residents of the district where the JNV is located.
- Students must be currently enrolled in Class V for the 2026-27 academic session in a Government or recognized school.

Salary / Financial Benefits
- Education, boarding, lodging, uniforms, and textbooks are provided free of charge.
- A nominal Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi fee of Rs. 600 per month is applicable for students in Classes IX to XII, with exemptions for SC/ST students, all girl students, and BPL families.
- Wards of government employees (not in exempted categories) are charged Rs. 1500 per month or the actual education allowance received, whichever is lower.
Selection Process
- Candidates must appear for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).
- The test consists of 80 objective-type questions totaling 100 marks.
- The exam duration is two hours, held from 11:30 AM to 01:30 PM.
