Overview

Tezpur University has released an official notification for a walk-in interview to recruit three temporary Field Assistant positions under an MoEF&CC-sponsored research project in the Department of Environmental Science. Led by Principal Investigator Prof. Kh. Ashalata Devi, the project focuses on the assessment, revival, and recognition of bio-resources, handlooms, and handicrafts of indigenous tribes in Manipur. Eligible and highly motivated candidates with a background in biological or applied sciences can apply via email and participate in the hybrid mode interview scheduled for August 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess a minimum qualification of a B.Sc. or Diploma in a relevant discipline of Biological Sciences or Applied Sciences.
• Age Limit: Candidates must not be older than 28 years of age on the date of the interview, with upper age relaxation applicable as per Government of India rules.
• Desirable Qualifications: Experience in community-based fieldwork, familiarity with local languages and cultures, capability in extensive field surveys, working experience in ethnic forest villages of Manipur, and skills in crafts specimen collection, storage, processing, and preservation. Basic computer skills in MS Office, data compilation, and office management are given additional preference.

Salary / Financial Benefits

• Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly fellowship/emolument of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only).

Selection Process

• Screening of applications submitted via email by the specified deadline.
• Walk-in-interview conducted in a hybrid mode (both offline at Tezpur University and online via Google Meet link).
