About This Opportunity

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has issued an official recruitment notification for the position of Geophysicist in the Directorate of Geology and Mining under the Mines and Minerals Department, Government of Assam. Eligibility Criteria

• Must be an Indian Citizen and a permanent resident of Assam with a valid Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
• Must hold a Postgraduate degree in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, M.Sc. Tech. in Applied Geophysics/Geophysics, M.Tech. in Exploration Geophysics/Geophysics, or Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Geophysics from a recognized university or institution.
• Must possess at least 5 years of experience in geophysical work in the field and laboratory.
• Must be between 21 and 38 years of age as on 01-01-2026, with upper age relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates, and 10 years for PwBD candidates.

Salary / Financial Benefits

• Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- per month
• Grade Pay: Rs. 13,900/- (Pay Band-4)
• Usual allowances as admissible to Assam State Government employees from time to time

• Experience certificate reflecting at least 5 years of geophysical work in field and laboratory
• Declaration regarding Small Family Norms in Form-A
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) or employment certificate for regular government employees
• Recent passport-size photograph (50 KB - 200 KB) and signature (50 KB - 200 KB)
