Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be between 15 and 24 years of age as on 15/09/2026, with upper age relaxation applicable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD, and for Ex-Servicemen as per government rules.
- Applicants must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) under the 10+2 system with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.
- Candidates must possess an ITI Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT in the relevant designated trade.
- For Lab Technician (Pathology), candidates must have passed 12th Class with Science stream (PCB) with at least 50% marks in both Class 10th and 12th.
- Engineering graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible for this apprentice recruitment.

Selection Process
- The merit list is prepared strictly based on the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (Class 10th).
- There is no written examination or viva-voce conducted for the selection.
- In case of a tie in marks, older candidates are given preference, followed by the date of passing Matriculation.
- Shortlisted candidates must undergo Document Verification at East Coast Railway Headquarters, Bhubaneswar, and clear a medical fitness test.
- Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs) receive a 20% preference in open-market Railway Level-1 recruitment.
